Traditional Vietnamese arts performances introduced at Da Nang Airport

A traditional Vietnamese arts programme entiled ‘The Heritage Road’ was offically introduced at the Da Nang Airport on Saturday evening in a bid to bring amazing Christmas activities to passengers on the departure and arrival terminals to help them enjoy the holiday.

Starting from December 24, ‘The Heritage Road’ arts programme will take place at the Da Nang Airport with the active support from the Municipal Department of Culture and Sports, along with the Municipal Department of Tourism, plus other government bodies. The intention is to promote traditional cultural values of Viet Nam's regions and improve passengers’ experience.

The introduction of this arts performance demonstrates AHT’s great efforts in creating unforgetable pre-flight experience for passengers, as well as helping them enjoy beautiful and emotional moments when arriving or leaving Da Nang.

Each show will last 30 minutes, and it will start from 11:00pm and end at 11:30pm. The arts programme will take place twice a week, on Thursdays and Saturdays.

While waiting for their flights, passengers will enjoy special performances telling about Vietnamese historical and cultural stories through displaying costumes, concerts and dances by actors and actresses from the Nguyen Hien Dinh Tuong (Classical Drama) Theater.

Highlights of ‘The Heritage Road’ arts programme are performances of traditional costumes, including Vietnamese Ao Dai - Vietnamese traditional dress, and royal costumes, along with playing traditional Vietnamese instruments in ensemble or solo performance, including Hue Royal Court Music and Vietnamese folk music, plus performances of traditional dances and songs, including Apsara traditional dance and Chau Van singing- a popular singing ritual in Vietnamese spiritual culture and started in the northern region.

"‘The Heritage Road’ arts programme is a long cherished wish of AHT as the Da Nang airport is not only a place for tourists to begin their journey to explore Da Nang but also a final destination for them to end their trips to the city. A visit to Da Nang gives tourists the excitement and anticipation and we want to create a strong last impression of the city’s image for them with this arts programme before they leave the city," remarked Mr. Nguyen Xuan Kieu from the Executive Board of the Da Nang International Airport.

In order to realise its goal of becoming Viet Nam’s first 4-star international airport in accordance with Skytrax standards, AHT will continue its efforts to improve the quality of its cultural, culinary and utility services while providing the best care possible for passengers with excellent services along with friendly and professional staff.

On Christmas Eve, the arts programme took place at the two check-in halls on the departure terminal from 9:30pm until 10:00pm.

At the arrival termimal, passengers on last- minute flights which landed in Da Nang between 10:10pm and 10:40pm were greeted by Santa Claus, as well as treated to a traditional arts show featuring Christmas songs and music. In addition, more than 100 Christmas gifts were presented to child passengers.
