First international air passengers arrive in Da Nang on Lunar New Year 2023's first day

On Sunday morning, January 22, the first day of the Lunar New Year of the Cat 2023, Da Nang welcomes the first 100 international air passengers.

These first footers were on the Thai VietJet Airlines operated flight VZ964 from Bangkok, Thailand that landed at the Da Nang International Airport at 9:10 a.m. on Sunday.

The welcome ceremony was hosted by representatives from the Da Nang Department of Tourism, and Da Nang International Airport.

Under the programme to welcome international visitors to Da Nang, the units presented gift vouchers for visits to attractions such as Sun World Ba Na Hills, Nui Than Tai hot spring park and Bep Trang frog noodle restaurant, along with and special gifts for visitors during their experience in the city.

In addition to the above-mentioned flight, on the first day of the Lunar New Year 2023, Thai VietJet Airlines operated three international flights from S.Korea to Da Nang.

As reported, on Sunday, at the Da Nang International Airport, there were 218 incoming and outgoing flights, consisting of 124 domestic and 94 international flights carrying a combined total of about 6,000 passengers to Da Nang.

According to reports from airlines, from January 20 to January 26, there are an estimated total of 768 flights to Da Nang with about 99,000 passengers onboard.

In detail, there are 444 domestic flights carrying nearly 57,000 passengers, with an average frequency of 64 flights/day, the highest on the first 3 days of the Lunar New Year with 67 flights/day.

As for international routes, there are 324 flights with a total of more than 42,000 passengers, with an average frequency of 46 flights/day.

According to the Da Nang Department of Tourism, during the ongoing Tet break, the city is organizing many activities to serve both locals and tourists such as the space ‘Da Nang Tet now and then…’ arranged in the APEC Statue Garden Park area and a location along Bach Dang Street.

In addition, there are many places decorated with Tet flowers, New Year's art programmes at APEC Statue Garden Park, the Labour Culture House, the eastern campus of Dragon Bridge and many other diversified activities.
