The Da Nang government has issued a plan to implement the national government-adopted strategies on the development and application of biotechnology to serve the country's sustainable development in the new situation.

Accordingly, by 2030, mechanisms and policies for science and technology activities, bio-industry development and bio-economy will be completed, and improved to be on par with advanced countries, based on the city’s many unique and creative advantages.

Also, human resources and biotechnology infrastructure in the city have reached the advanced level of Southeast Asia, and some fields have reached the advanced level of Asia and the world as a whole.

In particular, the Da Nang Biotechnology Centre has become a strong biotechnology research unit of Da Nang, and the South Central Coast as a whole.

The city strives to become an ecological city, a strong national and Southeast Asian-level centre for scientific research, R&D, innovation, human resource training, biotechnology and bioeconomy development.

Biotechnology enterprises will increase by 50% in investment scale and growth scale. Bio-industry and bio-economy will account for a minimum proportion of 10% and 25% of the city's GRDP, respectively.

By 2045, the city will strive to become an ecological, smart urban area, a centre for innovation startups, smart production and services in the field of biotechnology at the Asian level.
