Freights passing through Da Nang Port up by over 35% in Sept.

As reported by the Da Nang Port, since the beginning of 2023, import and export activities in the city and the Central - Central Highlands region have still encountered many difficulties due to the lack of consumer shopping needs in major markets. Therefore, the output of goods through the Da Nang Port in the first 9 months of 2023 reached nearly 9 million tonnes, down nearly 4.2% from the same period in 2022.

However, the output of goods through the port in September increased sharply by nearly 36% compared to the same month in 2022, reaching more than 1.1 million tonnes.

It is known that, of more than 1.1 million tons of goods passing through Da Nang port in September 2023, container output reached more than 62,000 Teus, an increase of nearly 28% over the same period in 2022.

Accumulated in January-September 2023 period, the volume of container cargo through Da Nang port reached more than 492,000 Teus, a rise of nearly 3% over the same period in 2022.

Along with that, the total number of ship arrivals at the port in the period reached 1,277, an increase of nearly 5% over the same period in 2022.

Of this, container ships reached 980, up by more than 18%. General cargo ships reached 278 times, down more than 28%; passenger and military ships reached 19 times, an increase of more than 533% over the same period in 2022.
