On Thursday, the Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade and the Samsung Electronics Vietnam Co., Ltd. jointly held a launching ceremony for a cooperation project to develop smart factories in Da Nang, and other cities and provinces in the central region in 2023.

Accordingly, the two businesses trained by Samsung are Trung Nam Electronics Manufacturing Services Joint Stock Company (Trungnam EMS) at the Da Nang Hi-tech Park, Hoa Vang District), and Tan Long Paper Packaging Co., Ltd. at the Hoa Khanh Industrial Park,  Lien Chieu District.

The project's support process features 3 activities in 12 weeks: selecting a supporting enterprise; consulting support for smart factory development and future management.

Samsung experts from South Korea will train middle and high-level managers of businesses on smart factories, survey and evaluate businesses and directly advise and work with businesses to improve the scene and create a foundation for process improvement, thereby gradually establishing a smart factory.

Based on the results of field consultation, the experts will continue to support businesses in building future operations and management systems, such as encouraging businesses to continue implementing improvement activities and periodically checking the level of improvement in the production sector after the project.

This is an activity within the framework of the project ‘Developing smart factories for Vietnamese businesses in Da Nang and the central region in general’ signed by the municipal Department of Industry and Trade and Samsung Electronics Vietnam Co., Ltd. Remember on September 12, 2023.

The project aims to improve the capacity of domestic businesses operating in Da Nang through consulting on setting up smart factories and fostering high-quality human resources for businesses, helping Vietnamese companies meet their domestic needs, and increase competitiveness in the global value chain.
