Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has signed a decision to establish a Steering Committee for developing the Regional and International Financial Center project.

Accordingly, Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai is the Head of the Steering Committee and the Deputy Head of the Steering Committee is the Minister of Planning and Investment.

Members of the Steering Committee comprise leaders of Ministry of Planning and Investment, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of National Defence, Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Information and Communications, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment , Ministry of Justice, State Bank of Viet Nam, Government Office, Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, and Da Nang People's Committee.

The Steering Committee is responsible for proposing directions and solutions regarding the development of the Regional and International Financial Center project to the Prime Minister.

It is in charge of helping the Prime Minister urge relevant ministries, ministerial-level agencies, agencies under the Government and localities to build the Regional and International Financial Center Project; as well as chairing and organising cooperation, consultancy and exchange activities with domestic and international organisations and agencies on building the Regional and International Financial Center in Viet Nam.

Besides, the Steering Committee carries out other Prime Minister-assigned tasks related to the project. It promotes the responsibilities of Head and each member of the Steering Committee in researching and proposing directions, tasks, and solutions for building and implementing the project, thereby ensuring feasibility, efficiency, and compatibility with the practical situation in order to maximise the potential and advantages of Viet Nam in general, and Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang in particular.
