Da Nang emerged as an attractive destination for international tourists

In order to attract more tourists, the Da Nang tourism industry has continuously refreshed tourism products in tandem with constantly enhancing the quality of service, and updating the diversified trends of visitors. Thanks to this, Da Nang is constantly being voted by the leading tourism sites of the region and the world as a whole. This shows that Da Nang is still a destination chosen by international tourists.

After the COVID-19 outbreak, there have been some changes in the trend of visitors, especially they have often chosen near destinations with convenient flight routes and want to experience more services. The voting as well as the titles Da Nang have received showed that trend.

Typically, the My Khe Beach of Da Nang was listed in the top 10 most beautiful beaches in Asia in 2023 by TripAdvisor, a leading website for tourism application, in March. The city was also listed by Booking.com as the domestic destination most searched by Vietnamese tourists in the summer of 2023 in June.

Da Nang was called by the famous Travel+Leisure magazine of the US as ‘the tourism capital of Central Viet Nam’ in July. Also, Da Nang, an exquisite city in the region, was identified by Micenet, the leading MICE travel news website of Australia, New Zealand, and its surroundings, as an ideal MICE destination, in September. The city has steadily developed into a destination for conferences, seminars, events, and gratitude activities.

Besides, in October, Da Nang was recommended as a place for travel as in the top destination for Vietnamese to seek the most flight for the end of 2023, according to Google Flight's announced data. Or most recently, according to the tourism trend report of Skyscanner in India, the website searching for air tickets, hotel rooms, car rental, Da Nang led the top 10 destinations for Indian tourists with thhe highest number of searches in recent years.

Also outstandingly, the highly acclaimed Condé Nast Traveller, the renowned American travel magazine, has just released its list of must-visit destinations for the year 2024. Among the top destinations in Asia, the vibrant city of Da Nang in Viet Nam has emerged as the sole representative of the country, making it a standout choice for travellers seeking an unforgettable experience.

Tourism service providers believe that the continuous high evaluation of Da Nang by travel pages shows an undeniable fact that Da Nang is still a favorite destination for tourists. However, the important thing is how to attract more tourists to Da Nang by making use of such high rakings.

According to Mr. Nguyen Minh Xoang, the Director of Hai Van Cat International Travel Service Company, the fact that Da Nang has been chosen and searched frequently by domestic and international tourists is an opportunity for its tourism. The city tourism industry, businesses need to quickly seize the opportunity to have promotions and introduce more about the destination of Da Nang. To reach high results, it is necessary to focus on developing certain key tourist source markets and continuously introduce them to Da Nang’s potential, strengths and unique tourism products.

A tourism business leader said that if tourists know more about itself, Da Nang must promote its image more, especially in the international markets. Typically, the Indian market that is very potential and visitors are ready to travel, especially with the operation of five flights per week connecting Indian cities with Da Nang.

Besides, Indian guests also have very good feedback on Da Nang as well as the Central Viet Nam as a whole. In particular, Da Nang has topped a list of the ten most sought-after destinations by Indian tourists on the travel search site Skyscanner India.

According to the municipal Department of Tourism, the Skyscanner India report said Indian searches for information related to Da Nang’s tourism since the beginning of this year has increased by 1,141% year-on-year, doubling the search volume for its runner-up, Almaty city of Kazakhstan. Indian searches often focused on flights, hotel room prices and transportation fees.

Therefore, the city's tourism industry needs to promote trade to facilitate the opening of more flights and the number of tourists from such important international markets as India or other countries in the Southeast region.

According to the Da Nang Department of Tourism, over the past time, the city has made great efforts to create events to attract visitors. In addition to the number of guests served by the accommodation establishments in the 9 months of 2023, the city welcomed 98 MICE delegations with a combined total of more than 29,200 guests, many of whom were from such countries as India, Malaysia and China.

In the coming time, the city's tourism industry, businesses and associations will continue to step up tourism promotion, the opening of more international routes, grasping the upcoming trends and tastes of tourists in the key and potential tourist source markets surveying the search for potential markets and market segments, develop social networking sites towards international markets such as Douyin (Taiwan, China), Naver (South Korea).
