According to Vice Chairman Cuong, Da Nang was continuously recognised as "An attractive city for innovative startups" in 2020, 2022 and 2023 by the Viet Nam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA). This is one of the highlights during the city's innovative start-up development. Da Nang is positioned by the local and central governments as a hub for innovative, nuclear startups in the central region.

Mr. Cuong requested member units to continue promoting their achievements serving as a basis for the development in the coming time.

The focus should be on removing obstacles, shortcomings, and limitations to achieve major goals. Agencies and units are asked to continue to research support policies and submit them to the municipal People's Council for issuance, he added.

Director of the municipal Department of Science and Technology Le Duc Vien highlighted the vital role of the city’s Startup Network Coordinating Council in promoting startup development and innovation in the city; as well as creating a strong connection foundation between elements in the startup ecosystem.

Additionally, networking activities between domestic and international innovative startups were promoted through the participation and organisation of many events and forums on innovative startups.

The city laid an emphasis on connecting universities and research institutes with businesses and incubators, and encouraging the formation of innovative start-up projects/enterprises from universities and research institutes in the city.

He underlined the necessity for council members to bond more closely, accompany and support each other, in a bid to build and develop an increasingly strong Da Nang startup ecosystem, becoming more attractive to domestic and international startups.

Director Vien remarked the seminar provided the good opportunity for the city to evaluate innovative startup activities, and propose solutions to develop the startup ecosystem in 2024.

This was also an opportunity to connect council members to exchange, discuss and make appropriate decisions and instructions to promote and develop the city's startup ecosystem; build an environment to promote domestic and international connection activities; and carry out programmes and events to encourage cooperation and connection between elements in the ecosystem, he noted.

Also at the event, a spokesperson for the municipal Department of Science and Technology reviewed the implementation of the project on supporting the national innovation startup ecosystem until 2025 in the city; and presented the orientation and action plan of the council in 2024.

Moreover, startup incubation and connection activities at the Da Nang Business Incubator were introduced, whilst solutions and directions for developing the local startup ecosystem were proposed.
