On Saturday, the Da Nang Department of Tourism held the final round of the 2024 Da Nang Excellent Tour Guide Competition.

The 2024 Da Nang Excellent Tour Guide Competition attracted the participation of many tour guides. After the preliminary round with the presentation and tour guide skills competitions, the organising committee selected the 10 best candidates from the categories of tour guides serving international and domestic tourists for the final round.

In the final round, the 10 candidates competed in the three events: field competition, making videos introducing 10 tourist attractions; thematic debates, and answering questions on how to handle situations from the judges.

For the video making contest, the organizers posted videos made by the contestants on the Danang FantastiCity fanpage and the tiktok@danangfantastic channel and calculated interaction scores based on likes and shares. This was considered one of the differences recorded in this year's contest, showing the adaptability of tour guides to the use of digital technology today.

At the end of the final round, the organizers awarded two first prizes to contestants Duong Tung Khuong and Nguyen Quoc Hai Hung, and two second prizes to Huynh Kim Tai and Dang Thi My That. In addition, two third, four consolation and additional prizes were given out to the contestants with the most favourite video, the best speech performance, the best talent performance, and the most enthusiastic and impressive cheerleading team.

The total prize value for the two international and domestic tour guide categories is VND 90 million (cash and in kind).

The contest not only contributed to honouring the tour guide profession, but also spread the spirit of enthusiasm and professionalism, arouses the passion for the profession of tour guides in the city, contributing to building a generation of good tour guides to join hands in building the image of the Da Nang tourism.
