Since mid-November, the Vitraco Transport and Tourism JSC has launched the "Happy Tet At Ty" spring travel programme focusing on foreign tours, especially to Southeast Asian countries such as Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia. It has also promoted new tourism products since mid-2024 such as Central heritage tours, healthcare tours, and spiritual tourism tours.
Mr. Le Tan Thanh Tung, Deputy General Director of the company, informed that although the upcoming Lunar New Year only lasts for about 10 days, it accounts for 10% of Vitraco's total annual visitors. Therefore, the company has prepared programmes to stimulate demand of tourists by increasing maximum support for tourists, especially covering a part of airfare, arranging more pick-up buses, and diversifying departure times so that tourists have more options.
As for tourism products, the company has contacted destinations such as temples, treatment centres, and health care facilities because the demand for health tourism is expected to continue to increase during Tet. Currently, the number of customers registering for Tet is increasing day by day and the peak registration is expected to be in early January 2025.
Meanwhile, the Vietnam Travelmart JSC has launched a number of domestic and international tours to welcome in Tet 2025 with attractive incentives for early purchase and group purchase.
Keeping tour prices stable and increasing promotions to stimulate demand are also a solution implemented by the company in the context of costs becoming a concern for customers.
Mr. Nguyen Nhu Nam, General Director of the company, said that the company has increased cooperation with accommodation establishments to offer good prices for tourists along with many accompanying incentive packages to enhance customer experience such as spa services, hot onsen baths, free costume rentals, etc. The number of family guests during Tet will be on rise, so the accompanying services for this group of guests are also focused on, especially means of transportation.
According to travel companies, after the central government officially issued the 9-day Lunar New Year 2025 holiday schedule, the number of customers registering for tours of many units is gradually rising compared to a few weeks ago. Tet 2025 will bring many positive signals, especially the significant increase in the market share of international visitors thanks to the new visa policy, bringing many advantages to tourists as well as businesses.
According to the latest report from the General Statistics Office released today, international arrivals totalled in the first 11 months of 2024 reached more than 15.8 million, marking a 41% increase year-on-year, bringing the country closer to its goal of welcoming 17-18 million international tourists set earlier this year.
The Da Nang Statistics Office stated that the number of tourists on tours served by travel agencies in the first 11 months of 2024 stood at 1.35 million, up 10.9% against 2023. The period saw a 33.3% increase in the number of international visitors, 0.3% in domestic tourists, and 34.8% in Vietnamese visitors traveling abroad.
Currently, tourism businesses have announced tourism programmes and products to attract tourists, as well as have plans to prepare for charter flights. They have mobilised a lot of resources on large markets such as Taiwan, Hong Kong (China). It is expected that the number of tourists from these markets to Da Nang will significantly go up during the 2025 Lunar New Year. In addition, domestic tourists are likely to increase during this time.
Aside from tourism businesses, the city plans to organise many festival programmes, and invest more than VND 18.6 billion in floral and lighting decoration projects in a bid to create attractive tourist attractions for people and tourists during the upcoming festive season.
