SHB DN face current V-league leader on Saturday

After losing 2-0 away to Ha Noi T&T last weekend, SHB Da Nang next play at home at 5.00pm tomorrow (11 July) to current V-League leaders Binh Duong.  It will be a tough game for the home team because Binh Duong have beaten SHB DN many times.  Most recently, Binh Duong defeated SHB DN 1-3 at the Chi Lang Stadium in last year’s league match, and 3-2 at the Go Dau Stadium in the 3rd round of this year’s season.

Binh Duong are determined to win tomorrow to keep their hold on the league as secure as possible because they are only one point ahead of Thanh Hoa who are currently in 2nd place with 28 points.  The visitors are therefore expected to field their strongest squad for the match.

In contrast, SHB DN are currently in 8th place on 19 points and their marked shortage of funds has meant that the club has yet to recruit new talented domestic players to replace some of the team's senior players who are showing their age.  They include Minh Phuong, Phuoc Vinh, Hai Lam and Quoc Anh.

In addition, SHB DN’s 2 newly-recruited foreign strikers, Cuban Pérez Rousseaux and Jamaican Fraser, have yet to fully fill the gap left by former Argentinian striker Gaston Merlo.

Hopefully, coach Le Huynh Duc will make effective adjustments to SHB DN’s defensive and counter-attack tactics in order to overcome the tough challenge and win the match.
