Bai choi, which combines the word bai (a deck of cards) and choi (bamboo hut), has various range of performance styles: folk songs, poem-singing, acting, storytelling and music performed on traditional instruments.

The city’s Culture Centre will hold bai choi between 5pm and 9.30pm on Saturdays and Sundays on the pavement of Tran Hung Dao Street on the eastern end of the Rong (Dragon) Bridge in Son Tra District.

It is said that feudal mandarin Dao Duy Tu (1571-1643) invented bai choi to entertain people during holidays. Bai choi is popular in the central region.
