The Da Nang People’s Committee (PC) has recently approved the organisation of an international-level contest to design the landscape along both banks of the city’s Han River.

The contest’s organising board has already been established.  Municipal PC Chairman Huynh Duc Tho has been chosen to be its Head, whilst PC Vice Chairman Nguyen Ngoc Tuan and Head of the Viet Nam Institute of Architecture Do Thanh Tung have been selected to be deputy heads.

In addition, architect Nguyen Tan Van, Chairman of the Viet Nam Association of Architects, has been chosen to be Head of the contest’s Advisory and Winner Selection Committee.   

The contest is expected to be launched on 1 August, and its organising board will accept entries from 1 - 15 August.  After that, the public will be encouraged to vote online for their favourite entries.  The website address will be announced soon.

The awards ceremony is planned for 30 October.

Recently, municipal PC Vice Chairman Dang Viet Dung asked the Department of Transport to complete, by the end of this month, its plans to establish a tourist transport fleet and build trip boat piers along the river.
