Public encouraged to vote in Computerised Fireworks Displays Competition
Seven months after launching the Computerised Fireworks Displays Competition 2016, the 6 most outstanding entries have been chosen for the final round. All entries had to depict computerised images of fireworks displays on the Han River at night, with a melodious musical background, lasting for between 20 and 22 minutes each.
In order to widely publicise the contest and increase its objectivity, the event’s organisers are encouraging the public, including foreigners, to vote for their favourite entries, but voting closes on 15 July.
Watch the displays and cast your vote at http://binhchon.phmt.danang.gov.vn. The website is in Vietnamese, but to help you ‘Diem Sang tao’ is ‘creativity’ and ‘Diem Tham my’ is ‘aesthetics’. Alternatively, votes can be cast through text messaging - text ‘DVC PHMT [Entry Number] [Creativity Score] [Aesthetics Score] [Predicted Number of Votes] to 8188. The range of marks is from 1 to 10.
Scores from the public voting will account for 40% of the total scores in this final round, with the remaining 60% from the organisers.
Winning entries will be announced at an awards ceremony later this month. The first prize winner will receive 15 million VND, whilst 10 million VND and 5 million VND respectively will go to the second and third prize winners. All winning entrants will also receive Certificates of Merit from the municipal People’s Committee Chairman Huynh Duc Tho.
In addition the organisers will give cash prizes valued at 3 million VND each, and award Certificates of Merit from the city’s Department of Information and Communications, to outstanding entries.
The Computerised Fireworks Displays Competition 2016 aims to introduce some interesting new ideas for the Da Nang International Fireworks Competition 2017.
