Continuing preparations for Fireworks Festival
There are only just over 2 weeks left until the opening night of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2017 (Sunday 30 April).
Installing the viewing stand seating |
To date, construction of the viewing stand seating along the eastern bank of the Han River, which will eventually offer 21,000 ticketed seats, is well underway.
One of the differences this year is that the main stage will be bigger and more imposing than in previous years, and it will be floating on the river. The construction of it is expected to be completed on 20 April.
During the 5 performance nights, visitors will be treated to impressive performances by hundreds of domestic singers and dancers, all utilising modern sound and lighting systems and 3D mapping technology.
One highlight of this year’s DIFF will be the parades of eye-catching flower-decorated vehicles representing the 8 participating countries, along with ones from Da Nang.
The festival’s General Director, Le Quy Duong, said “The parades, which will take place along major local streets, offer a chance for local residents and visitors to meet and exchange with the participating arts troupes. Unlike any parades which have been held in the city before, at some stops during the parades the watching crowds will be invited onto the vehicles to dance with the artistes. This will allow them to truly experience the jubilant and fascinating atmosphere of the festival”.
In addition, there will be a special ‘International Cuisine Space’ which will offer diners an array of delicious dishes and exciting music based on the 5 elements of ancient oriental philosophy. Also, visitors will have the opportunity to meet with international chefs to gain an insight into delicious dishes from their countries, and to join in cooking contests.
