SHB Da Nang remain in 8th place in the league as they could only manage a 2-2 away draw against second-from-bottom Can Tho on Saturday.
SHB DN took control of the game from the beginning, and their dominance paid off in the 30th minute when midfielder Minh Tam opened the scoring with a powerful shot into goal. Only five minutes later, midfielder Duc Le’s powerful header made the score 0-2.
However, in first-half stoppage time, Can Tho’s midfielder Thanh Long narrowed the gap to 1-2 with a perfect shot. Then, in the 80th minute, their striker Kisekka Henry shot directly into goal to make the final score 2-2. Can Tho’s defender Tran Tan Dat was eventually sent off for committing 2 bookable offences during the final 10 minutes of the game.
In the other matches, Ha Noi scored in the final minute to beat Song Lam Nghe An 1-0, and Ho Chi Minh City suffered a 1-4 home loss to Sanna Khanh Hoa.
All the other matches were drawn. FLC Thanh Hoa drew 1-1 at home to Sai Gon, and Quang Nam had a disappointing 1-1 home draw against bottom club Long An. The games between Quang Ninh and Hoang Anh Gia Lai, and Binh Duong and Hai Phong, both ended 2-2.
Ha Noi FC currently top the league with 23 points, followed by Thanh Hoa and Sanna Khanh Hoa also on 23. Even after 13 games, things are tight at the top with only 3 points separating the top 7 teams. SHB DN are in 8th place on 18 points. Can Tho and Long An are the bottom pair, with 7 and 5 points respectively.
The V-league will now have a 2-month, mid-season break with SHB DN’s next match at Thanh Hoa on 24 June.
