Published: April 26, 2017

Despite being very busy preparing for the opening ceremony of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2017 at 8.00pm on Sunday 30 April, Mr Joe Ghazzal, the Director of Global2000 International from Malaysia, the consultants for the event, managed to find time for an interview with DA NANG Newspaper reporters.

This is the 8th time that Mr Ghazzal’s company has been involved in this large-scale international event as consultants.  He happily said that, as a result of his frequent stays in this beautiful seaside city, he considers Da Nang as his second home, and he is deeply impressed by the friendliness of the local inhabitants.  Interestingly, Mr Ghazzal said that he and his colleagues are making even more effort compared with previous occasions to prepare for this year’s event, but they really love doing their work.

The fireworks will be released near the Novotel on Bach Dang on 5 evenings - 30 April, 20 May, 27 May, 3 June and 24 June.  Two teams will perform each night, but the last date will be the grand finale featuring the best 3 teams from the 8.

Mr Ghazzal remarked that the structure and schedule of DIFF 2017 will make the festival even more attractive, and especially help Da Nang attract even more visitors during the 2-month-long festival.  Representatives from such participating teams as Australia and Canada also fully concurred with his opinions about the programme for DIFF 2017.

Mr Ghazzal expects that this year’s event will attract even larger crowds of spectators compared with previous competitions.  Amongst the participating teams, Team Austria are newcomers but they are expected to thrill the audience with their special performance thanks to their rich experiences from competing in other international fireworks competitions worldwide and receiving many top prizes.

Mr Ghazzal also vowed that both locals and visitors would be treated to international-standard fireworks performances as this year’s event involves 8 teams which have won many top prizes at international competitions in other countries.

With regard to his prediction of the winner of DIFF 2017, Mr Ghazzal forecast that the very strong teams of Australia and China would be amongst the best because these teams have both been crowned champions in the previous competitions in Da Nang.

As for the hosts Da Nang-Viet Nam, Mr Ghazzal highly praised the team for their improvement over the years.  Most notably, Da Nang-Viet Nam ranked 3rd in the 2016 PYROMAGIC fireworks festival in Poland.  Hopefully, the team will not disappoint the home fans with their majestic, delicate and meaningful display.
