A total of 16 players and 3 coaches have been called up by the Vietnam Basketball Federation (VBF) to prepare for the 29^th Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 29) which will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 19 - 31 August 2017.

Amongst them are 3 members of the Danang Dragons professional basketball club - their coach Donte Lavar Hill, Vietnamese-Swiss player Stefan Nguyen, and Vietnamese-American player Horace Nguyen. 

Most notably, coach Donte Lavar Hill, who played a vital role in helping Danang Dragons to become league champions in 2016, has been appointed head coach of the newly-established national team for the upcoming international event.
