The Switzerland and Japan teams will produce their amazing fireworks performances on the 2^nd night entitled ‘Earth’ of the ongoing Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2017 on Saturday 20 May. 

Team Switzerland

The 2 teams’ members have already arrived in this beautiful seaside city, and they are focusing hard on their preparations to deliver their best possible performances at the challenging but fascinating DIFF.

Officially founded in Switzerland in 1967, Sugyp Sa is one of the leading pyrotechnic companies in this European country.  The company usually produces a total of 250 displays in Switzerland and in other countries around the world every year. 

Jointly managed by Jean-Pascal and Nicolas Guinand bothers, Sugyp Sa has won numerous prizes at fireworks competitions in Europe, and the world as a whole.

Prestigious awards which Sugyp Sa have recently won include gold medals at both the 2014 International Fireworks Competition Hannover in Germany, and the 2016 PYROMAGIC fireworks festival in Poland, plus a copper medal at L'International des Feux Loto-Québec 2016 which is the most prestigious and largest fireworks festival in the world.

A representative from Team Switzerland remarked that he and his teammates are very happy to compete in DIFF 2017.  Sugyp Sa will design a fascinating fireworks display utilising a great space of Da Nang which is surrounded by the rivers, the mountains and the sea.  This immense, special stage will be a big challenge for all participating pyrotechnic teams.

Mr Joe Ghazzal, the Director of Global2000 International from Malaysia, the consultants for DIFF 2017, remarked that Team Switzerland is expected to deliver its extremely mysterious and attractive fireworks display as they will use a very modern fireworks launching platform.  The Swiss contestants will use contemporary folk music in a bid to produce the most impressive fireworks show imaginable to the audience.

Team Switzerland wants to convey their message that all Sugyp Sa displays are filled with emotions, and they would like all the audience members at DIFF to become their fans, and in turn, the team give them an excellent performance.

This is the second time that Tamaya Kitahara Fireworks Co Ltd from Japan has participated in this competition, and this team is seen as a strong contender at DIFF 2017. 

Team Japan

Producing 150 displays each year, Tamaya Kitahara Fireworks Co Ltd employs its innovative techniques to retain the form of firework shells after they explode.  In particular, the company is a master in using the latest computerised techniques for fireworks displays.  This team has now enriched its experience in creating a harmony between enchanting support music, impressive lighting effects, and sparkling colours in a bid to produce spectacular fireworks displays. 

Most notably, Team Japan ranked 2^nd in both the Da Nang International Fireworks Competition 2010 and the Macau International Fireworks Display Contest 2011.  The team left a good impression on its audiences with fascinating performances at these competitions.

Mr Ghazzal remarked that Team Japan usually shows off their very special performance style, with a focus on conveying meaningful messages to the spectators, rather than just aiming at increasing the number of fireworks.  Mr Ghazzal also revealed that this team will use pop music for their upcoming display.

The Japanese competitors happily said that they are very proud to be taking part in this large-scale international fireworks event. 

The message Team Japan wants to convey is that they would like all the audience members at DIFF to enter a beautiful dream filled with amazing fireworks from Japan.  Let’s dance and smile whilst listening to funky music during Japanese team’s performance.

Mr Ghazzal said he hoped that the Japan and Switzerland teams would explore their own creativity in using impressive lighting effects, colourful fireworks, and melodious accompanying music.  He also believed that the 2 teams have developed the special outlines of their upcoming performances.
