The full programme of 16^th round matches in V League 2017 took place yesterday evening in stadiums across the country.

Despite their tense and exciting 3-4 away win over third-from-bottom Binh Duong at the Go Dau Stadium, SHB Da Nang remain in 8^th place.  Four times SHB DN took the lead, only to 3 times lose it again within minutes. 

In the 25^th minute, team captain Do Merlo opened the scoring for the visitors with a perfect penalty kick.  Two minutes later, Binh Duong’s midfielder Trung Tin’s great shot levelled the score at 1-1.

In the 40^th minute, an own goal by Binh Duong’s Anh Duc gave the visitors the lead once again but, only one minute later, he equalised the scores with a powerful header.  Two goals in 2 minutes for the striker – unfortunately, one for each side!

Merlo completed his double with a well-placed shot in the 56^th minute to increase the score to 2-3 to the visitors.  Once again though, a mere four minutes later, Binh Duong’s midfielder Van Vu levelled the score at 3-3 with a powerful shot.  Finally, in the 71^st minute, midfielder Huy Toan scored to give SHB DN the 3-4 win.  An exciting game between the 2 teams who will fight out the Cup semi-final, home and away, later in the summer.

Long An’s new signing last week from SHB DN, Brazilian striker Eydison, continued his goal scoring streak.  Having scored in each of the last 2 SHB DN games, last night he scored the only goal for his new team.

The V League will now have a break of over 2 months to allow the national football team to prepare for SEA Games 29 which will take place in Malaysia in mid-August.    The league season will resume on 8 September, and SHB DN will play Can Tho at home on 9 September at 5.00pm.
