A wide range of cultural and entertainment events will take place to welcome in the New Year 2018 with the intention of satisfying the spiritual life of local residents, and appealing for more visitors from both home and abroad to the city as well.

A spectacular firework display will take place between 9.00pm and 9.14pm on Sunday, 31 December.

With the application of FireOne, which is the world's most advanced digital fireworks firing and choreography system, a total of 1,000 high-level and 337 low-level fireworks tubes will let off on barges floating on a section of the Han River, near its eastern bank.

Organised by the Bao Nguyen Food and Event JSC, the funds for the upcoming 14-minute-long fireworks show will come from the First Real Company.

In particular, from 8.00 pm until midnight on the same day, a fascinating musical show will be held at a park near the eastern end of the Rong (Dragon) Bridge in Son Tra District.  This event will showcase professional performances by such domestic renowned singers as Hong Nhung and Hoang Thuy Linh, along with US-born Kyo York.

Tomorrow, 27 December, an entertainment and sport dance programme will take place at the East Sea Park’s outdoor BNF stage on Vo Nguyen Giap Street.

On Saturday, 30 December, this venue will also host the ‘Sing for Life’ contest, and a fascinating musical performance to welcome in the New Year one day later.

On Sunday evening, 31 December, the New Year Countdown Party will be held at the 29 March Square on 2 September street.

The Coco Starlight Fest 2017- The Crystal Kingdom is now running at the Da Nang Cocobay Entertainment and Tourism Complex until 2 January 2018.  The Box Market, a cuisine and shopping zone, is offering a total of more than 100 stands which are classified into various categories, namely cuisine, fashion and arts. 

In particular, the New Year Midnight Kiss Countdown Party will take place on Sunday evening, 31 December, at this complex. 

This event will feature the fascinating performances by the K-Pop trio, namely Simon Dominic, Gray and Loco, along with such famous Vietnamese artistes as Trung Quan Idol, Phuong Ly, Angela Phuong Trinh, DJ Duy Tuan and group Monstar.

From now until the New Year 2018, Da Nang is attracting a large number of visitors from the US, Australia, China, Japan and South Korea.

According to local travel agencies, there is an upward trend in the number of bookings for either daily or optional tours.

These tourism businesses are currently also providing such services as accommodation, air fares, transportation and tour guides for their clients.

Over the imminent 3-day New Year holiday break from 30 December 2017 to 1 January 2018, the city is expected to welcome a total of about 142,986 domestic and foreign visitors, up 17.9% against the same period last year.
