Vietnamese-American Chanelle Van Nguyen of Hung Thinh HCM City triumphed in the women’s singles category of the VTF Pro Tour 3 – third Open Viettravel Cup 2018 which concluded in Da Nang on 10 June.

Nguyen, who is ranked 630^th on the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) Tour, defeated her teammate Dao Minh Trang 6-1, 6-1 in the final.

Earlier, in the women’s doubles, the 24-year-old player and No 1 seed Nguyen also won the title. She paired with Trang to beat duo Tran Thuy Thanh Truc and Phan Nhu Quynh 7-5, 6-2 in the final.

Meanwhile, Trinh Linh Giang of Becamex Binh Duong took the title of men’s singles after winning the national defending champion Pham Minh Tuan 1-6, 6-4 and 6-3.

The event saw the participation of nearly 100 players from 10 teams nationwide such as Ninh Thuan, Vinh Phuc and Ha Noi, competing in men’s and women’s singles and doubles.
