‘Ao dai’ (traditional Vietnamese long dress) is considered one of the most beautiful national costumes in the world. It becomes the symbol of Vietnamese classical female beauty, and the pride of the Vietnamese people.

Da Nang is now home to many ‘ao dai’ shops and the My Color shop is a typical example.  In particular, My Color is an ideal place for those who love to tailor their own ‘ao dais’ or buy readymade ones.

Nestled at 132 Le Loi in Hai Chau District, the shop offers various styles of ‘dao dai’ for wearing in such various occasions as festivals, wedding ceremony rituals, and fashion events, meeting the diversity requirements of women at different ages.

Ms Do Thi Quynh Nhi, 27, the owner of the shop, said her shop specialises in designing, selling, and leasing ‘ao dais’.

A decade ago, Nhi and her best friend together nurtured a dream of designing their own ‘ao dais’ to inspire women to wear this special dress frequently in their daily lives.

Unfortunately, her friend had hand injury caused by a motorcycle accident, so he couldnot draw anymore. Therefore, Nhi exerted every effort to make her and her best friend’s dream come true.

With her ceasely efforts and determination, Nhi sucessfully designed her first ‘ao dais’ for herself.

In late 2016, Nhi started to sell and lease her designed ‘ao dais’ on her own Facebook page. Since then, her collections of ‘ao dais’ have attracted a great deal of attention from Facebook users.

Last year, Nhi officially opened the My Color shop with the intention of meeting the diversified demands of her customers.

To date, Nhi has had about 20 collections of ‘ao dais’. She is making great efforts to affirm her shop’s position in the fashion brand in Viet Nam, and become the supplier of ‘ao dais’ to foreign countries worldwide.
