Public sector employees will officially have 4 days off work from 29 December 2018 to 1 January 2019 for the New Year holiday. Therefore, many accommodation providers and travel agents in Da Nang are taking the initiative to launch numerous attractive programmes to lure their customers.

In particular, at the Marble Mountains Tourist Area in Ngu Hanh Son District’s Hoa Hai Ward which has been recognised as a special national-level relic site by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, representatives from the Management Board will present gifts to their first visitors of the New Year.

The Winter Festival is taking place at the Sun World Ba Na Hills until 31 December. Visitors to this site will have the opportunity to take selfies with a 14m-high colorfully-decorated Christmas tree, and enjoy numerous fascinating musical performances with the participation of many European artists.

In addition, a New Year Countdown Party to ring in 2019 will be organised on 31 December 2018 at the 29 March Square on 2 September Street. It will start at 9.00pm and end at 0.15am. The audience will be treated to lively musical performances with spectacular lights and sound. The outdoor event will feature famous domestic singers, and well-known domestic and foreign DJs.

Many restaurants and bars at the Furama Resort Danang are offering many discount vouchers on their services.

The Nui Than Tai Hot Spring Park has launched many attractive promotion programmes for its spa, massage, and mud and Japanese style Onsen baths services.

According to Ms Truong Thi Hong Hanh, Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Tourism, domestic and foreign visitor arrivals to the city during the upcoming holiday is expected to be higher than in last year. The main reason is thought to be that new and attractive tourism products have been developed in the city such as the Son Tra Night Market, and the Cau Vang (Golden Bridge) on the top of the Ba Na Hills.

She, however, affirmed that the city will not face hotel room shortages like previous years, and room rates will remain unchanged because many new hotels and resorts have been put into operation in the city during the year.

In an effort to ensure the rising demand for shopping of domestic and foreign visitors, small traders at the Han Market have made plans to stockpile goods in order to ensure sufficient supplies of safe and high-quality goods for shoppers before and during New Year Festival.

With a total of 76 traditional markets, supermarkets and shopping centres, Da Nang has gradually affirmed its position as a leading shopping hub of the central region as it offers local residents and visitors a wide range of products for the New Year holiday.
