Da Nang has become one of the most visited cities in Viet Nam, and Asia as whole, thanks to its brilliant scenery of the landscape, beautiful beaches with soft white sand and clear blue water, and interesting international-scale festivals.
In addition, the city is now home to a number of museums which are very inviting to both domestic and foreign visitors due to their unique cultural and historical values.
Museum of Da Nang
Founded in 1989, located at 24 Tran Phu Street, Thach Thang Ward, Hai Chau District, the Museum of Da Nang incorporates the reconstructed walls of a citadel built by Emperor Minh Mang at the beginning of the 19th century.

The three-floor museum houses more than 2,500 photos and artifacts which tell stories about the history, culture, and the development of the city. More than 1,900 of the displayed exhibits in total have been collected since the liberation of the city on 29 March 1975. Many of them are on public display for the first time.
In recent years, a number of interesting extracurricular activities and exhibitions have been organised at the museum, and they have captured much attention from the public.
In 2019 alone, the museum welcomed a total of over 350,000 visitors from both home and abroad.

Museum of Cham Sculpture
The Museum of Cham Sculpture was first established in 1915. Over the past 10 centuries, the museum has confirmed its position as a place to preserve and display typical artifacts of the Champa sculpture arts.

Situated in the heart of the city, the museum features French architectural style in the early 20th century and some unique structural characteristics of Cham towers in the central region.
The musemum houses Cham sculpture arts galleries namely My Son, Tra Kieu, Dong Duong and Thap Mam-Binh Dinh.
Last year, the museum received more than 300,000 tourist arrivals in total.

Fine Arts Museum
Nestled at 78 Le Duan in Hai Chau District’s Thach Thang Ward, the Fine Arts Museum houses more than 1,000 pieces of modern arts works, artifacts of traditional folk arts, and traditional handicraft products.

The 3-storey museum covers an area of 1,875m2, with the display area of 1,185.5m2.
The museum campus features colorful plants and flowers, bringing visitors relaxed and comfortable feelings during their visit to this place.
The Museum of Zone 5 and the Military Zone 5 branch of the Ho Chi Minh Museum
Positioned at 3 Duy Tan Street in Hai Chau District’s Hoa Thuan Dong Ward, the Museum of Zone 5 and the Military Zone 5 branch of the Ho Chi Minh Museum are two amongst museums in the country to commemorate late President Ho Chi Minh, and amongst stunning military museums in the country.

The Museum of Zone 5 officially opened its doors to the public on 7 January 1982. On display at the 8,819m2 museum are numerous documentary photos, maps, battlefield sketches and artifacts, telling stories about the struggle of Da Nang people during the resistance wars against the French and the Americans.
Meanwhile, the Military Zone 5 branch of the Ho Chi Minh Museum was built on 12 September 1976, and it officially opened its doors to the public on 19 May 1977.
The museum features a replica of late President Ho Chi Minh’s stilt house in Ha Noi, with a tree garden, a fishpond, a house on stilts, and more.

The museum has 4 rooms covering a total area of 700m2. These rooms showcase photos and artifacts telling stories of the life and political career of late President Ho Chi Minh - the great leader of the Vietnamese revolution, the national liberation hero, and the world cultural celebrity.
Buddhist Cultural Museum
Nestled in the Quan The Am (Avalokitecvara) Pagoda at 48 Su Van Hanh in Ngu Hanh Son District, the Buddhist Cultural Museum is the first of its kind in Viet Nam.

On display at the museum are more than 500 Buddhist antiques which feature Buddhist arts along with Buddhist culture of Viet Nam and some other Asian countries.
According to some experts, many of the museum’s displayed artifacts are rated on par with national treasures. Included are a set of 8 Tantra Buddhism statues carved with green and red bronze, and a jade Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva statue.
Visitors to the museum have the opportunity to learn more about the objects used in Buddhist worship and solemn rituals, including Buddhist scriptures, photos of Buddha and bronze bells.
Dong Dinh Museum
Located on the Son Tra Peninsula, the Dong Dinh Museum is very inviting to locals and visitors arriving in the city thanks to its harmonious combination between forest ecological, and cultural and artistic spaces.

It is one of 3 private museums nationwide which are licensed by the Vietnamese government to operate.
The museum boasts hundreds of items dating back up to 2,500 years, which showcase the rich cultural heritages of Sa Huynh, Champa, Oc Eo, Dong Son and Dai Viet.

Apart from these antiques, the owner has also collected items from Vietnamese minority ethnic groups with the aim of preserving and promoting their remarkable cultural values.
