Work begins in Da Nang on APEC Park expansion project
The Da Nang Management Board of Infrastructure Construction and Urban Development Projects formally started construction works on an over 759 billion VND APEC Park expansion project on Thursday morning in Da Nang. The project is set to be completed in May 2021.

The move aims to welcome the 22nd Congress of the Da Nang Party Committee (PC) for the 2020 - 2025 tenure, and the 13th Viet Nam’s National Party Congress of the Communist Party of Viet Nam.
The 8,668m2 expanded area is bounded by Bach Dang Street to the east, 2 September Street to the west, Binh Minh 4 Street to the south, and the existing APEC Park to the north.
Located in Binh Hien Ward, Hai Chau District, the new development will comprise a public park, a stroll garden associated with an existing sculpture garden, a main stage, a water fountain, a stage for organising cultural events, a playground for children, greenery areas, a parking area, and underground public toilets.

Da Nang People’s Committee Vice Chairman Le Trung Chinh attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the APEC Park expansion project.
In his remarks at the event, Vice Chairman Chinh said the expansion of this wonderful cultural landmark aims to create even more green spaces in the heart of the city, and allow diplomatic events and festivals to be held here as well.
Mr Chinh also said, once completed, the expansion will turn this special park into a new must-visit attraction, featuring special cultural characteristics of Da Nang, for any visitors arriving in Da Nang.
Vice Chairman Chinh took the opportunity to ask construction units to ensuring the on-schedule progress in tandem with guaranteeing the high quality and aesthetics of the project.
