Da Nang Museum Deputy Director Ngo Thi Bich Van highlighted the three-day festival in bringing cultural heritage sites closer to locals from all walks of life, and enhancing the entire community’s responsibility in preserving and promoting the city’s cultural heritage values in the time ahead, hereby enriching the cultural and spiritual life.

Of special note, the highly-practical event comes amidst nationwide celebrations for the 15th founding anniversary of the National Cultural Heritage Day (23 November).

Amongst the most prominent activities at the festival are the ‘Flows of cultural heritage in Da Nang’ competition, the ‘Pride of Da Nang’s cultural heritage’ rhetoric contest, the ‘Ancient scooters - once legendary’ photo exhibition and the ‘Scooter on roads’ exchange event.

In addition, visitors to the festival have the chance to gain a deeper insight into Da Nang-owned heritages through such attracting activities as watching artisans performing wood carvings and Co Tu ethnic minority group’s sculptural arts,  and admiring how handicraft products are created.

Likewise, a ceremony for raising the Lunar New Year pole (‘Cay Neu’ in Vietnamese) reenacting the ceremony of building bamboo tree and a performance of ‘tung tung da da’ dance to show gratitude to heaven and earth delighted the viewers.
