Da Nang takes lead at National Swimming and Diving Championship 2020
Da Nang team took lead in the 2020 National Swimming and Diving Championship which took place at the Phu Tho Diving-Swimming Club in Ho Chi Minh City from 16-21 November. They brought home 14 golds, 9 silvers and 5 bronzes from this national-level sports event.
The national sports event offered the good opportunity for young divers and swimmers to improve their skills and accumulate valuable experience for international and national-level tournaments in the future.
During the competition, Da Nang’s diver Nguyen Thi Hang gave impressive performances as she claimed 6 well-deserved gold medals in the women’s 100m, 200m, 400m and 800m events using snorkels and flippers, 100m scuba diving event, and 50m breath-hold diving event. In addition, she took a silver medal in the women’s 50m event using snorkels and flippers.
Diver Nguyen Duy Anh also bagged two gold medals in the men’s 50m breath-hold diving event and 100m event using snorkels and flippers.
Meanwhile, talented swimmer Hoang Quy Phuoc grabbed two gold medals in the men’s 50m and 100m freestyle individual events.
Also, Phuoc and the other members of the city’s male relay team took a gold medal in the 4 x 400m freestyle relay race.
Thanh Hoa team clinched second place with 11 golds and 3 silvers, while Military team claimed third place.with 8 golds, 12 silvers and 15 bronzes.
