UpRace 2021 contributes more than VND5 billion to social organizations
UpRace 2021 has just concluded with a total of 5,113,053km by its participating runners, equivalent to contributing to VND 5,113 billion to social organisations.
The donated money will go to cover all the surgical costs for 120 poor children with cleft lips and palates, help reduce infant mortality rate in 17 public hospitals nationwide by 25%, grow 10,000 green trees, and help 90 children orphaned of their parents due to COVID-19.
Most notably, the number of participants in this year’s event doubled compared to that of 2020, from 115,000 to over 238,000 people.
UpRace, a free community running event for everyone on the web/mobile UpRace, has been initiated and technically sponsored by VNG JSC (Vietnamese technology company) since 2018.
Runners are allowed to run at whenever and wherever, and they must record their achievements on their mobile devices featuring global positioning system (GPS), such as smartphones and smart watches.
With each km you run, the UpRace sponsors will donate at least 1,000 VND to one of the four social organisations, namely the Newborns Vietnam, GreenViet, Vietseeds, and Operation Smile.
