Apart from a series of cultural events and festivals running alongside both banks of the Han River, such activities taking place at the APEC Sculpture Garden are very attractive to locals and tourists due to the hosting venue’s its own distinct character and landscape  in addition to quality assurance in events in efforts to fit the entertainment needs of local residents and tourists.

During major holidays in Da Nang and Viet Nam, the APEC Sculpture Garden always hosts amazing arts and cultural events. Furthermore, such events also take place at this venue on weekends or on special occasions for local festivals such as the Hai Chau Communal House festival in order to facilitate entertainment needs of various age groups.

It can be said that the effective performance of the APEC Sculpture Garden has basically met the expectations of the government and people of Da Nang.

Mr. Nguyen Van Bao, a resident from Hai Chau District, hopes that this venue will host weekly wonderful cultural events in addition to exhibitions that present best photographs and paintings showcasing the beauty of Da Nang’s nature and its people in a bid to attract locals and tourists to visit and enjoy exciting exhibits.

Ms Nguyen Kim Thoa, a tourist from Ha Noi, praised Da Nang for its effort to tap the full potential of the APEC Sculpture Garden, and the both banks of the Han River as a whole, to serve the best entertainment needs for locals and tourists. She was very impressed with a large number of local people coming to enjoy outdoor music events. This inspires her to go back to Da Nang to explore in the future, Ms. Thoa added.

Mr Tran Van Manh, the Director of the Hai Chau District Cultural and Sports Center which is the Management Unit for the APEC Sculpture Garden, said that this venue is regarded as Da Nang’s iconic symbol and its cultural product while it becomes new attraction for locals and tourists.

The attractiveness of this venue has been mainly attributed to a wide array of high-quality arts and cultural events for locals and tourists that have been developed and taken place regularly, Mr Manh remarked.

The Management Unit for the APEC Sculpture Garden is creating a plan to increase the effectiveness in the venue’s performance in order to submit it to the Municipal Administration for approval. High priority will be given to organising cultural activities at this venue to celebrate major holidays and important events in Da Nang. Heed will be paid to create a strong reading culture in the city, organize exhibitions that display best photographs and paintings by local photographers and painters, along with competitions and high-quality art events in an attempt to best serve entertainment needs of local people and tourists.

“In our long-term strategy for the APEC Sculpture Garden, we will mobilise private sources of financing for arts and cultural events in an effort to diversify activities in this venue. Special attention will be given to reaching greatest potential of this venue, both banks of the Han River and the Bach Dang Pedestrian Street Project, thereby contributing to convincing tourists to stay longer, as well as promoting the image of Da Nang among domestic and international friends, "Mr. Manh said.
