Many highly meaningful activities to celebrate Uncle Ho's birthday

A wide range of activities took place on Saturday at the Phuoc Ninh Martyr Cemetery relic site in Nam Duong Ward, Hai Chau District. Notable among them were the recyclable trash collection, the display of Vietnamese goods, Women's Startup Day, arts programme and a small contest on learning about the life and career of late President Ho Chi Minh.

The series of activities was organised in an active response to a special emulation round to celebrate the 132th birthday of late President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2022) and associated with the emulation campaign of ‘ Nam Duong, a good residents, good deeds’.

On this occasion, the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committee chapter of Nam Duong Ward presented financial aids to 2 poverty-stricken households to repair their downgraded houses and improve means of livelihood for 2 others with a total amount of VND60 million from the ward-level Fund for the Poor.

In a similar vein, the representative of Phap Lam Pagoda handed out gifts to 50 disadvantaged households in the ward at a total value of VND15 million.

In Thach Thang Ward, Hai Chau District, on Saturday and Sunday, a fair featuring 13 stalls of Vietnamese goods, a mass cultural performance programme, the granting of cash in support for households with difficult circumstances, along with other charitable activities also took place, attracting a great deal of public attention and support.

In a similar celebration vibe, Hoa Thuan Tay Ward, Hai Chau District held a musical performance to celebrate Uncle Ho's birthday and a charitable programme during which assistance worth VND21 million in total was given to those living under the city’s poverty threshold, along with other outstanding supportive acts for the sake of the disadvantaged.

Likewise, Tan An residential area, Man Thai Ward, Son Tra District organized a charitable trip to mountainous Phu Tuc Village, Hoa Phu Commune, Hoa Vang District to present 20 bicycles worth a total of VND 30 million to students of the Cotu ethnic minority group.
