The ‘Reverse the wave’ play performed by artistes from the Nguyen Hien Dinh Tuong Tuong (classical drama) will represent Da Nang to compete in the the National Theatre Festival 2022.

The play was directed by People's Artist Nguyen Hoai Hue and its screenwriter is Meritorious Artist Nguyen Sy Chuc.

As planned, Nguyen Hien Dinh Tuong Theater will perform the above-mentioned play on May 26.

The content of the play praises great efforts and dedication made by Le Van Duyet, a Vietnamese military strategist and government official who served as the governor of the former Gia Dinh Province in bringing happiness to the people.

He made a great contribution to stabilizing the Cochinchine region, turning it from an area heavily affected by war into a peaceful and thriving area. Besides, the play also expressed the feelings in his heart.

The National Theater and Drama Festival is held every 3 years in order to contribute to the preservation, construction and development of Viet Nam's theater art.

This year, the festival will be held in the central province Nghe An from May 17 to 28 with the participation of 11 opera and drama art units across the country.

These participating units are expected to perform 16 performers, namely 9 plays and 7 folk songs.

The coming event is also an activity to celebrate the 132nd birthday of late President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - 2022).
