Helping disadvantaged children celebrate happy and warm Mid-Autumn Festival
The municipal authority has directed the Department of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs to make every effort to bring the joyful atmosphere of the Mid-Autumn Festival to help all children citywide, especially poor and disadvantaged ones in remote areas.
Specifically, on September 7, the municipal Department of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs coordinated with the Hoa Vang District Authority to organize the ‘The night of the full moon festival’ programme for children with special circumstances and ethnic minority children in the district.
During the programme, the organisers donated gifts of school supplies, worth VND500,000 each, to 310 children with special circumstances, ethnic minority children, orphans, and those affected by COVID-19.
According to Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs Le Van Minh, over the past years, along with the implementation of dynamic policies on socio-economic development, the city has always paid attention to protecting, caring for and educating children.
Notably, the city has mobilized many financial resources to support and help children in difficult circumstances, thereby contributing to creating a healthy social environment and ensuring the comprehensive development of children citywide.
Over the past two years, the complicated developments of COVID-19 have limited many activities for children during the Mid-Autumn Festival. However, the good new is that all children have tried their best to overcome difficulties to become good children and good students, and achieve good academic results, many of them won high prizes at district and municipal-level exams.
