Yellow flamboyant trees, also known as copperpod, or yellow-flame, blossom from late March until June every year. |
Going along Yet Kieu Street in Tho Quang Ward near the Tien Sa Port, and crossing the winding sloping roads leading to the Son Tra Peninsula, local people and tourists can easily be impressed with outstanding yellow flowers on the forest green background. This type of flowers usually blossoms from late March until June.
According to a photographer, the yellow-flamboyant trees are a familiar stop for brown-shanked douc langurs that are dubbed as 'the queen of primates' living on the peninsula.
The colour of the flowers and the image of the brown-shanked douc langurs are especially appealing to nature lovers.
Mr. Phan Minh Hai, Deputy Manager of the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang Tourist Beaches, said that there are many seasons of flowers with vibrant colours on the Son Tra Peninsula such as yellow - flamboyants in late March and purple Millettia ichthyochtona flowers in April and May, making an impression on locals and tourists.
Notably, visitors to the peninsula will have the opportunity to admire beautiful images of brown-shanked douc langurs swinging on tree tops and the yellow flamboyant trees.
However, due to the impact of a storm in late 2022, some roads leading to the Son Tra Peninsula have limited travel and are being repaired. Motorcyclists are advised to be extra careful and comply with the regulations whilst riding their vehicles on allowed sections of the roads to ensure safety. Scooters are banded from travelling to the peninsula in order to avoid unexpected accidents.
"The Son Tra Peninsula is a natural forest with great resource value and diverse ecosystems in the city. The management board expects people and tourists to have a sense of joining hands to protect the environment and wildlife here" Mr. Hai emphasised.
