US artists' paintings to go on display at Da Nang Museum of Fine Arts
A total of 70 artworks created by famous artist David Thomas and The Boston Printmakers, both from the US will be on display at an exhibition from April 17 until April 21 at the Da Nang Museum of Fine Arts, 78 Le Duan, Thach Thang Ward, Hai Chau District, Da Nang.

The exhibition divided into 2 separate spaces.
In detail, the ‘Finding Parkinsons’ space displays 33 printed paintings by artist David Thomas, using various techniques such as collage combining self-portraits and MRI brain images of the author; digital printing, lithography on the basis of completed lithographs that he was created in 1986.
Artist David Thomas said: “Finding Parkinson’s is the story of my battle against this neuro degenerative disease. I was diagnosed in 2015, as a result of my exposure to Agent Orange while stationed in Viet Nam in 1969 - 1970. Through my art I have given you a window into my world and my battle against my brain”.
His ‘brainchildren’ aim to celebrate his nearly 30 years of work in promoting friendship and understanding between Vietnamese and US artists.
The Boston Printmakers’ Prints space highlights 37 works under the theme ‘Peace, Love, and Understanding’. It is known that all of them will be donated to the Da Nang Museum of Fine Arts after the exhibition ends.

According to the US artists, the collection is to pay tribute to the hospitality that the Da Bang Fine Arts Museum has given international artists.
The exhibition carries a mission to strengthen international friendship and cooperation, create opportunities for Da Nang artists to exchange creative experiences with foreign ones, especially in the field of graphic painting, and at the same time holding a desire to meet the general public's increasing demand for art enjoyment and enriching activities to attract more visitors as well.
Alos, the event reflects on the heavy and persistent consequences that Agent Orange has caused to human beings.
