DIFF 2023: Irresistible attraction for visitors
The Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2023 takes ‘Light up the borderless world’ as its theme. Although it has been held for 10 times, this year’s event promises to be an irresistible attraction for both locals and tourists.

‘Light up the borderless world’
Currently, travel agencies and tourism service providers across Da Nang consider DIFF 2023 to be a highlight of the city in the forthcoming summer tourism season. They have taken the initiative to promote the eagerly anticipated cultural event on their tourism forums information channels.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thien, Deputy Director of the Hai Van Cat International Travel Service Company, analysed that after a long period affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, there is an increasing need for enjoying cultural and entertainment products. Therefore, the return of Da Nang's own branded fireworks festival has been heating up tourism forums and groups.
“Many tourists ask us about participating teams, performance nights and tickets of DIFF 2023, so that they can arrange a suitable and reasonable itinerary to Da Nang that can combine tourism and enjoying fireworks shows. With the new product added this summer, service businesses are also easier to approach to customers” Nguyen Ngoc Thien said.
Sharing the same opinion, Mr. Bui Manh Hung, a resident of An Hai Dong Ward, Son Tra District, expressed his excitement at the upcoming fireworks shows. He added the international fireworks festival will help to attract a lot of tourists to Da Nang, as well as create more favourable condition for business and trading activities in the locality.

Making a mark for tourism growth
This year's DIFF has ‘Light up the borderless world’ as its theme. The Han River port site will be the main location of the fireworks displays with a main stage and viewers' stands along sidewalk of Tran Hung Dao Street opposite the port.
The opening night of DIFF 2023 is scheduled to take place on the evening of June 2, with the performances by the Viet Nam and Finland teams with the theme ‘Peace for the World’.
The second night on June 10 will see competition between Canada and France with the theme ‘Love without Distance’.
The third competition night will take place on June 17 between Australia and Italy with the theme ‘Chasing Your Dreams’.
The fourth competition night will be on June 24 with performances of Poland and the UK with the theme ‘Embracing Nature’, whilst the final night will take place on July 8 with the theme ‘Light up the Borderless World’.
Each team will have 20 minutes to show off their performance as well as tell visitors from near and far the story of their team through the effects of sound and light.
The harmony of ideas and themes, the uniqueness of the performance as well as the synchronisation between the background music and fireworks images will be the main criteria to evaluate the performances of the teams at DIFF 2023.
Those who work in the hospitality industry in Da Nang hope that with the return of DIFF 2023, Da Nang will quickly make a breakthrough and achieve post-pandemic spectacular growth marks, thereby contributing to promote the city's general socio-economic recovery in the coming time.
This is also one of the cultural events that create its own brand for Da Nang, and at the same time contribute to helping the city be honoured twice as 'Asia's Leading Festival and Event Destination’.
The Organising Board of DIFF 2023 established The Da Nang People's Committee has just issued a decision to establish the Organising Board of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival 2023. Municipal People's Committee Vice Chairwoman Ngo Thi Kim Yen is appointed the Head of the board. Director of the Department of Culture and Sports Pham Tan Chu and Chairman of Sun Group in Central Viet Nam - Sun Group JSC Nguyen Van Binh are Deputy Heads. Other members of the organising board include representatives of leaders of relevant agencies and units. The Department of Culture and Sports is the standing body of the organising board. The board is responsible for helping the municipal People's Committee successfully organise the DIFF 2023. |
8 teams compete in DIFF 2023 DIFF 2023 is scheduled to take place from June 2 - July 8, with the participation of teams from Poland, France, the UK, Finland, Australia, Italy and the home team Da Nang - Viet Nam. According to a representative of Sun Group, this year's theme honours the post-pandemic strong recovery of world tourism. With performances from participating teams along with many exciting sideline events during the festival, Da Nang promises to be the convergence venue, igniting vitality and spirit of solidarity for all people worldwide to overcome difficulties and challenges after COVID-19. |
