The Non Nuoc Stone Carving Memory Museum in Da Nang’s Ngu Hanh Son District has opened its doors to the public since late April, 2023. This is the third non-public museum in the city, contributing to preserving the unique cultural values of the famous stone carving craft and becoming a new and attractive destination for visitors.

Not far from the Marble Mountains Tourist Area and the Quan The Am Pagoda, the Non Nuoc Stone Carving Memory Museum has just opened its doors to the public since late April.

The museum features a nostalgic, rustic architecture, and the value of Non Nuoc stone carving village - a national intangible cultural heritage - which has more than 400 years of history.

The over 700m2 museum is now home to more than 300 artifacts with the age of 50-100 years, all made entirely by hands.

The museum consists of a traditional area introducing craft villages and honouring artisans; an area introducing blacksmith and stone tools in the early days; an area showcasing all kinds of stones for craving; and an area displaying finished fine art stone sculptures.

Visitors to the museum can not only better understand about the carving process of stone sculptures, but also learn about the tradition of the Non Nuoc stone carving village - a unique craft village in Viet Nam.

The area introduces blacksmithing - a craft that stone carvers must learn to make their own stone tools.
