Nearly 170 taekwondo martial artists compete in tournament for Sunny Korea Cup in 2023
The Taekwondo Tournament 2023 for Sunny Korea Cup was kicked off at the Da Nang Taekwondo practice and competition house on Friday.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the tournament, Mr. Duong Le Quoc Linh, the Vice Chairman of the municipal Taekwondo Federation cum Head of the tournament's organising board, said that Taekwondo is not only a martial art but also a means of education and self-training to improve patience and confidence.
In recent years, the city’s Taekwondo Federation has organised many Taekwondo tournaments with the aim to promote training movements, improve health, and create a professional and diverse environment for training and developing Taekwondo in the city.
From 2005 - 2008, the Taekwondo tournament for Sunny Korea Cup was one of the largest of its kind in the city, attracting a large number of athletes from provinces and cities across the country. However, after a hiatus, the return of the tournament promises to be exciting and attractive.
This year’s tournament attracts the participation of nearly 170 taekwondo martial artists from 20 clubs in the city, namely Doan Ket, Pham Phu Thu, Bao Minh, Hong Bang, Hong Quang, Hong Tri Dung, Hong Gia Khanh, Bach Dang, Ngo Gia Tu, Thuan Phuoc, Tan Chinh, Hoa Phuoc DHTC, Hanul, An Hai Bac, Son Tra High Schools Taekwondo, Seung Ri, Hai Lien Hoa, Anh Chi, To Vinh Dien and Cam Le.
They competed in combat events for men and women, according to age groups of U12, U14, U15 and U17 and weight groups of 33kg, 41kg, 42kg, 44kg, 51kg, 53kg, 55kg, 59kg, and above 65kg.
At the end of the tournament, the organising board awarded prizes to the outstanding athletes in each category and the entire team.
