On Thursday, the Hoa Khanh Nam Ward People's Committee in Lien Chieu District and the Da Son village’s authorities held a ceremony to commemorate ancestors who established a village as well as prayed for peace. This was the main ceremony within the framework of ongoing Da Son village communal house festival in 2024.

This year, the festival is held solemnly, with ritual and festive categories. In particular, the ritual category includes the investiture procession, the worshiping ceremony, and the tutelary deity ceremony performed according to traditional rituals, bearing the mark of Vietnamese village culture.

The festive activities highlight many cultural, artistic and sports events such as an 8-team residential football tournament, a culinary contest, a cultural exchange programme ‘March to the origin’ and folk games, thereby meeting the spiritual, religious, and cultural and sports needs of Da Son villagers.

The Da Son Village is one of the oldest of its kind in Da Nang, with a history of more than 700 years, containing many traditional cultural heritage values. Every year, descendants of clans in the village organise the Da Son village communal house festival to preserve the historical values and cultural traditions, demonstrating the people's moral principle of ‘When drinking water, remember the source’.
