Over the past year, Da Nang won many national-level scientific and technological innovation awards.

In detail, the city received 1 second, 1 third prize, and 2 consolation prizes at 14^th National Technical Innovation Contest (2016 - 2017), 2 third and 1 consolation prizes at the Viet Nam Science and Technology Innovation Awards 2017, and 1 second, 4 third, and 4 consolation prizes at the 13^th National Innovation Contest for Children and Teenagers.

With regard to municipal-level achievements, a total of 4 first, 5 second, 9 third and 9 consolation prizes were given to outstanding contestants at the 14^th Da Nang Science and Technology Innovation Contest (2016 - 2017).

Here are first prize winning entries: ‘The Research into the Establishment of Power Distribution Control Centre for 110kV Transformer Stations without On-duty Staff’ by engineers from the Da Nang Power Company; ‘The research and the Application of Cloud Computing in the Development of the Software Managing Civil Servants’ Dossiers’ by members from the city’s Department of Home Affairs and the Information Technology and Communications Centre; ‘Researching, Designing, Creating and Installing a New Closed Automatic Feeding System No 4’ by engineers from the Da Nang Rubber JSC); and ‘Designing and Manufacturing Large-axis Steel Bending Machine’ by those from the Ha Giang Phuoc Tuong Mechanical Engineering Company.
