Festival of Dreams for ethnic minority female pupils
A total of 50 school girls from 23 ethnic minority groups in 36 localities nationwide took part in the ‘A Festival of Dreams’ programme in Da Nang from 18 - 20 July.
Present at the event were Mrs Truong My Hoa, former Vice President and President of the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund, Mr Rad Kivette, Executive Director of the VinaCapital Foundation, and Ms H’Hen Nie, Miss Universe Viet Nam 2017.
Within the framework of the programme, the participants visited Quang Nam Province’s Hoi An City, attended intensive training courses, and participated in community volunteer activities in the city.
In particular, they visited and presented gifts to children living in Da Nang’s Village of Hope last Friday.
Jointly organised by the VinaCapital Foundation and the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund, the event is part of the 2nd phase of the ‘Mo Duong Den Tuong Lai’ (A Brighter Path) project between 2017 and 2024.
Under the project, the 50 girls who have been selected based on their academic results and great efforts for overcoming their difficulties will receive financial aid.
Accordingly, they will get seven-year scholarships, worth 220 million VND each, for three years of high senior school and four years of university or junior college.
The money will cover tuition fees, living expenses, books, notebooks and uniforms.
