'AIoT & Smart Cities 2019' contest launched in the city
The national-level contest ‘AIoT & Smart Cities 2019’, themed ‘Smarter for Better Life’, was officially launched in Da Nang on Friday morning.

Jointly organised by the Quang Trung Software Business Incubation Center (QTSC Incubator), the Songhan Incubator (SHi), the Department of Science and Technology, the Computer Association of Ho Chi Minh City, and the Viet Nam Informatics Association, the contest is running until October.
In detail, 3 first, 3 second and 7 third prizes, with a total value of more than 1.23 billion VND (51,560 USD), including cash and incubation costs, will be given out to outstanding entries.
In particular, the winning ideas will receive support for incubating between six months and two years and give them access to SpeedUp, a programme supporting start-ups and innovation initiated by the Ho Chi Minh City’s Department of Science and Technology.
The competition is designed to create a network for students and businesses across the country to share such scientific and technological trends as artificial intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT).
Besides, the event also provides updates to ready the start-up community amid the burgeoning Fourth Industrial Revolution, and seeks ideas to develop new products. Notably, it aims to address problems of respective businesses and organisations in accordance with their needs.
Mr. Vu Anh Tuan, the Director of QTSC Incubator, Head of the organising board, highlighted the significance of the competition in enabling tech firms to make orders for their solutions and applications showcased in the contest.
