Amid the coronavirus crisis, many city-based businesses made ceaseless efforts during last year to drive their technology innovations with a focus on designing their new technological equipment, and creating new highly-competitive products in a bid to overcome pandemic-sparked difficulties and create stable jobs for their employees.
The case of the Ha Giang Phuoc Tuong Mechanical Engineering JSC is a prime example.
Over recent years, the company has received a combined total of over 1.6 billion VND in aid from the Da Nang Science and Technology Development Fund to drive its technological innovations.
In late February of 2021, the company received another financial aid from the fund to embark on its ‘Researching, Designing and Manufacturing 20-80mm Thick Sheet Steel Cyclone Machine’ project.
Ha Giang Phuoc Tuong is the first mechanical company in Viet Nam to have created 80mm thick sheet steel cyclone machine, plus chucking out world-class quality products which boast high competitive ability and as good as imported ones.
Mr Ha Giang, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Ha Giang Phuoc Tuong Mechanical Engineering JSC, highlighted the significance of the newly-created thick sheet steel cyclone machine to reduce manufacturing costs and increase product durability, thereby reducing the consumption of iron and steel, saving raw materials, and stopping the over-exploitation of natural resources.
“Receiving funding from Da Nang government is one of the great motivations for us to continue to promote our technological innovations, boost our productivity and provide our customers with high quality products” said Chairman Giang.

Also late last month of this year, the Da Nang Science and Technology Development Fund provided a financial aid for the QCM Technologies JSC for manufacturing the magnetic toaster. This is a modern industrial-scale baking production line with an operating capacity of 195kW, and a working temperature hovering from 170 - 200 degrees Celsius controlled by easy-to-use software with the user-friendly interface in Vietnamese.
Till date, the machine has been put into operation at a company specialising in making cakes for exporting to Japan.
Director of the QCM Technologies JSC Nguyen Thanh Chuong underlined the importance of the use of the new machine in increasing the productivity by 1.5 times, reducing the health risks suffered by employees and the risk of explosion, and saving energy.
It is known that, since 2017, through the Da Nang Department of Science and Technology, 34 fully eligible companies across the city have received a combined total of more than 6 billion VND in aid from the Da Nang Science and Technology Development Fund to drive their technological innovations. Among them are Ha Giang Phuoc Tuong Mechanical Engineering JSC, the Chau Da Co., Ltd., the QCM Technologies JSC, the Truong Giang Electric JSC, the Duc Huy Technology JSC, the Nam An Aluminum Glass JSC, and the Minh Thanh Loi Production and Trading Co., Ltd.
