More than 13,200 candidates in Da Nang sit for 10th grade entrance exams starting today

Today, June 15, 13,253 candidates in Da Nang started their first day of the 10th grade entrance exams for academic year 2021 to 2022 while the country is still facing the COVID-19 pandemic, a situation that requires them to take precautionary measures to protect themselves and others.

They are the first group in the city to sit for the examinations under the new normal.

For today, the candidates will sit for Literature and Foreign Language tests, which start at 8am and 2.30pm, respectively.

Tomorrow, June 16, the students will sit their third tests in Mathematics for 120 minutes from 8:00 am to 10:00 am.

On June 17, candidates who apply for the Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted will take the specialized high school admissions test for 150 minutes from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

The exams are taking place in strict respect of the COVID19 preventive measures. Candidates will be required to have their body temperatures taken before they enter the examination center and wear face masks for the duration of the examination.

Tests on all examination invigilators and test takers for their swab samples taken on June 12 and 13 have came back negative for the virus, the Da Nang Department of Education and Training has announced.

A total of 32 exam venues have been set up citywide and disinfected in accordance with the guidelines set by the Ministry of Health and the municipal government.

Around 3,000 examination invigilators will be on duty to ensure that the prescribed exam regulations are fully complied with during the examination period scheduled to last until June 17.

A total of 13,253 candidates have registered for taking their entrance tests for admission to 21 public senior high schools in the city and 1,058 others for admission to the Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted. 10,400 students out of the total will be officially enrolled in public high schools while 300 students will be admitted to at the Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted.
