Digital transformation serves new driving force, solves bottlenecks for Da Nang's progress
Over the past time, the application of information technology (IT) in Da Nang has continuously developed and received many prestigious awards. The e-government system was basically completed and put into operation in 2014 and is being continuously updated for its better operation.

The statement was made by Da Nang People's Committee Vice Chairman Le Quang Nam at the 4th Congress of the Da Nang Informatics Association in its 2021-2026 term on Saturday.
Up to now, 100% of the city’s administrative procedures are implemented online at level 4, the highest level in Viet Nam’s online public service system.
The rate of applications submitted and processed online is nearly 57%, nearly twice as much as the national average of 30%.
The IT industry has contributed 7.8% of the city's GRDP (Gross regional domestic product. Digital technology enterprises reached 2.1 enterprises per 1,000 people (the national average of 0.5).
Many products developed by Da Nang IT enterprises have been used effectively not only in the city but also in other localities across the country and even in many countries around the world, including advanced and developed countries such as the U.S., and Japan.
Da Nang has the highest rate of mobile phone users in the country, with the rate of 276 phones per 100 people; in which the number of mobile broadband subscriptions is 173 units per 100 people.
Especially, 99.8% of households have internet connection and 99.4% of people access and use the Internet whilst 100% of the businesses have an Internet connection.
The 4th Congress of the Da Nang Informatics Association took place in the context of the burgeoning 4.0 Industry, Viet Nam’s strong determination to boost digital transformation and so does Da Nang.
Amongst its key and breakthrough tasks, Da Nang is focusing on strongly innovating the growth model, restructuring the economy, and focusing on strongly developing the hi-tech industry and IT associated with turning Da Nang into a creative startup and smart city, creating a foundation for promoting the development of new industries and fields, especially the digital economy, digital society and digital government.
Under the Da Nang government-adopted resolution on digital transformation in the city by 2025, with a vision towards 2030, digital transformation is identified as a new driving force and an opportunity to solve bottlenecks as well as create breakthroughs in the city’s development.
In the coming time, the Da Nang Informatics Association will promote innovations according to the trend of digital technology applications and digital data.
Vice Chairman Nam highly recommended the Association’s members to make more efforts to contribute to the city's digital transformation and actively develop ‘make in Da Nang’ tech products for their supplies to domestic and foreign markets.
The Congress saw the election of the new 25-member Executive Committee of the Association, in which Mr. Nguyen Quang Thanh, Director of the Da Nsng Department of Information and Communications was elected as the Chairman of the Association.
