Da Nang ranked 1st nationally for mobile Internet speed by speedtest global index in April 2022

Ookla has released its Speedtest Global Index for the month of April 2022. In the index, Viet Nam climbed three spots  in the global ranking for median mobile Internet speeds to 53 in April from 56 in March, with an average download speed of 33.86 Mbps and an average upload speed of 26.8 Mbps, a latency of 23 ms. Internet connection in Viet Nam has got stable again after the country saw internet speeds decline during two consecutive months due to broken undersea fibre-optic cable.

Da Nang was named the national leader in mobile Internet speeds by global speed test experts Ookla in their April 2022 rankings. Its averages were listed as 41.75 Mbps for download and 26.8 Mbps for upload. Can Tho was in second place with an average mobile internet speed of 37.99 Mbps, followed by Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh City and Hai Phong in third, fourth and fifth places. Ho Chi Minh City had the lowest average latency with 20 ms while Can Tho had the highest average latency in the top 5 localities with the fastest mobile internet speed nationally.

With regard to median fixed broadband speeds, Viet Nam has moved up three places in the global ranking to 46 in April from 49 in March with an average download speed of 71.86 Mbps, an average upload speed of 66.74 Mbps, and a latency of 4 ms.

Ho Chi Minh City ranked first in national rankings for the fastest median download speed over fixed broadband among Viet Nam's most populous cities in April, followed by Da Nang, Can Tho, Ha Noi and Hai Phong in second, third, fourth and fifth places.
