This is the 4th consecutive year that Da Nang has been honoured and received the excellent award.
The municipal Department of Information and Communications, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, and the Department of Science and Technology received awards for a smart public service and infrastructure management and operation city, a smart, green, clean environmental management city, and an attractive city for innovative startups.
According to the assessment of the award’s organisers, with the perspective of taking people and businesses as the center, after 5 years of implementing a project on building Da Nang into a smarter city, the city has to date gained a number of initial achievements evenly in 6 pillars and 16 priority areas. The initial results have been recognised by prestigious domestic and foreign organisations.

Da Nang is determined to soon complete the construction of smart urban areas, synchronously connecting with smart urban networks in the country and the ASEAN region according to the goals set in the Resolution No. 43-NQ/TW dated January 24, 2019 adopted by the Politburo on building and developing Da Nang by 2030, with a vision towards 2045.
Da Nang considers digital data as the "bloodline" to build a smart city. The Chairman of municipal People's Committee directly directs the construction of a unified and centralised data infrastructure.
The city's Intelligent Operation Centre (IOC) operates as a focal point for collecting information and data from district-based monitoring and operating centers, and applications and systems of agencies, units and communities.
It is responsible for analysing and providing aggregated data for leaders to have information for direction and administration; sharing information with relevant agencies serving State management; and providing open and transparent information for people and businesses, serving urban authorities.
Till date, the city has provided nearly 1,000 data sets on the city's Open Data Portal, an increase of 400 compared to the end of 2022, as well as integrated and shared nearly 100 data sets from the Open Data Portal on the National Data Portal.
According to Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Information and Communications Tran Ngoc Thach, the city has built a synchronous smart city infrastructure with an urban network system connecting nearly 200 agencies and units; and more than 1,300 wifi hotspots. The LoRaWAN network covers the entire city.
Currently, the city provides 100% of public services online at level 4 and starts providing enhanced public services. The digital warehouse of administrative procedure handling results is put into use in the locality.
Da Nang has effectively built and deployed smart management platforms such as smart data processing and analysis, and digital journey platforms.
In particular, the city's Intelligent Operation Center (IOC) has 15 service groups with more than 150 types of visual chart data and more than 50 types of smart warnings and forecasts to serve the leadership and administration work.
According to VINASA's assessment, Da Nang has built a smart, green and clean environmental management city associated with smart city construction.
Accordingly, it has digitised waste discharge point data on the GIS platform, deployed a system of equipment to monitor the journey of 25 garbage trucks, and publicising environmental information throughout the city.
The city’s environmental monitoring and surveillance system has more than 70 smart cameras, not only monitoring and detecting but also allowing people to monitor and report when problems are detected. It combines 66 automatic monitoring stations and 15 automatic wastewater sampling systems, helping to effectively handle many of the city's environmental pollution problems.
