'My Care' project wins first prize in Youth - On! Hackathon 2023

The final round of the creative programming competition World Children's Day Youth On! Hackathon 2023 with the theme of mental health and the message ‘Open Your Heart and Connect’ took place in Da Nang on Sunday.

Hosted by the Viet Nam-UK Institute for Research and Executive Education (VNUK) under the University of Da Nang, the competition is open to teenagers aged 14-19 in the city. Within the framework of the Healthy cities for adolescents (HCA) project at the second stage in Da Nang, it is part of the initiative about the Child-friendly Cities for the 2022 - 2026 period.

This year’s competition attracted 17 registered teams with 70 contestants from junior and senior high schools, colleges and universities in the city.

After the semi-final round held on November 19, 9 out of the 17 participating teams won tickets to the final round.

In addition, the contest was accompanied by 15 guides who were leading experts in the field of technology, and doctors and Master's degree holders from universities and colleges who presented and criticised solutions to improve mental health issues for children and adolescents.

In the end, the Supernovas team won the first prize for the ‘My Care’ project on using artificial intelligence to identify negative emotions and behaviors.
