On Friday, the Da Nang Union of Science and Technology Associations partnered with relevant units to hold an awards ceremony for the 17^th National Technical Innovation Contest, the Viet Nam Science and Technology Innovation Awards 2023, and the 19^th municipal-level Innovation Contest for Teenagers and Children.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Tran Chi Cuong acknowledged and praised the achievements that scientists, technical innovators, students and award winners have gained at contests. He hoped that prize winners will continue to perfect their products and expand their production models in order to create a wide spread in the community, serving production and life.

He asked for support from agencies, departments, branches, and unions to create favourable conditions for prize winners to develop scientific and technical applications in production and life in the coming time.

At the same time, the city will continue to encourage people from all walks of life to promote initiatives, improve techniques and apply their results to production and life, contributing to the successful implementation of the local socio-economic development goals and tasks in the context of industrialidation and modernidation of the city.

According to a report at the ceremony, Da Nang won 2 Third and 2 Consolation prizes at the 17^th National Technical Innovation Contest.

Meanwhile, at the municipal-level Technical Innovation Contest, one First, nine Second, six Third and four Consolation prizes were given to outstanding contestants.

Notably, two projects in the city were honoured with the Viet Nam Science and Technology Innovation Awards in 2023. They were a project on research, design, and manufacture of acacia wood peeling machine by Nguyen Tran Trung Hieu and his associates of the Chau Da company, and a project on research on the application of high-performance concrete to produce precast components for urban infrastructure, developed by Mai Trieu Quang and his colleagues of the ECC Construction Investment and Consulting JSC.

The city won one Second, one Third and one Consolation prizes at the 19^th National Innovation Contest for teenagers and children.

On the occasion, the 18^th Technical Innovation Contest and the Viet Nam Science and Technology Innovation Awards 2024 were launched.
