A meeting was held in Da Nang on Thursday to announce the results of the assessment and rankings of digital transformation among localities and State departments and agencies in the city in 2023.

In particular, as for departments and agencies, the Department of Information and Communications, the Department of Tourism, the Department of Transport, and the Department of Science and Technology ranked in the ‘excellent’ group; 7 agencies in the ‘good’ group; 9 agencies in the ‘fairly good’ group; and 3 agencies in the ‘average good’ group; and 1 agency in average.

Some agencies have made great efforts in applying information technology, boosting digital transformation, and improving scores and rankings such as the Department of Construction jumping from the 22^nd place to the 12^th position, and the Department of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs climbing to the 7^th position from the 18^th place.

Regarding to central agencies, the municipal Department of Public Security and the Customs Department ranked in the ‘excellent’ group, 2 others in ‘good’ group and 2 others in ‘fairly good’ group.

As for the district-level People’s Committees, the People's Committees of Thanh Khe, Hai Chau and Hoa Vang districts were classified as good, whilst the 3 agencies were classified as fairly good.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Tran Chi Cuong highly commended the agencies, units and localities for their great efforts in improving the results of digital transformation.

The city leader also requested that agencies and localities continue to promote good experiences and practices, and effective models; as well as have more creative and effective ways in digital transformation to promptly overcome limitations and difficulties.

He also stressed the need for cadres, civil servants and public employees to raise their sense of responsibility in implementing assigned tasks; as well as for departments, branches, agencies, units and localities to link digital transformation with specific plans and tasks.

Special attention should be paid to help people avoid being affected and suffering losses related to digital fraud cases, he added.

On the occasion, Mr. Tran Chi Cuong awarded Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the municipal People's Committee to 13 agencies and units in recognition of their outstanding achievements in digital transformation in 2023.
